Waiting
December. Of all the months, December feels like the month of waiting. Waiting for Christmas, waiting for snow, waiting for friends and family to gather, waiting for presents, etc. A well-known phrase we have carried with us since my husband's days in the 82nd Airborne Division is "Hurry up and wait!". This phrase could easily be applied to building a breeding program. There has been a lot of "Hurry up..", and now we find ourselves in the "...and wait!". Waiting to complete health testing at the golden age of two, waiting for heat cycles, and some day, waiting for confirmation of pregnancies, etc. While it could be easy to drum ones fingers and become impatient, we want to cultivate a spirit of joy and peaceful waiting. A practice in faithfulness as we wait; a discipline; a liturgy. And there is no greater month to be reminded of this than December, as we wait to celebrate the birth of a King, whose life, death and resurrection secured an outcome for us that is written and sealed in blood. And may we find all other waiting platforms for worship, knowing that there is "not a square inch in the whole domain of human existence over which Christ does not cry, 'Mine!'".
And He shall reign for ever and ever, for ever and ever.
King of kings! and Lord of lords!
King of kings! and Lord of lords!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Hallelujah!
